SWX3220 / SWX2320 (Uplink 100G/25G)
What are these product?
These are new 10G multi-port switches. They feature 10G downlink and 25G/100G uplink, providing a high-speed network ideal for AV over IP.
How can I install the product?
These products can be mounted in a 1U-size rack, and come with mounting brackets.
How do I perform initial setup?
DIP switch on the rear panel enables to select a [ProAV profile] preset without PC. Easy setup is available via the Web GUI, and advanced settings can be configured via CLI.
How noisy is the fan?
The SWX3220-30 series and SWX2320-30 series are equipped with a variable-speed fan and are designed for quiet operation, making them suitable for ProAV environments.
Do the SWX3220-30 series and SWX2320-30 series support VLAN configuration?
Yes, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN is supported, allowing separation of multiple networks.
Do the SWX3220-30 series and SWX2320-30 series support redundancy functions such as link aggregation and spanning tree protocol?
Yes, they support LACP (Link Aggregation) and STP/RSTP/MSTP, enabling redundant configurations.
How can I connect 25G ports?
You can use SFP28 AOC cables (YAOC-25G-1M) or SFP28 SR/LR modules (YSFP-25G-SR, YSFP-25G-LR) with optical cables for connection. Genuine AOC cables (Active Optical Cable) and SR/LR modules are sold separately.
What is the difference between SFP SR and LR?
The transmission distance differs: up to 100 m for SR and up to 10 km for LR.
Can SFP28 connect at speeds other than 25G?
Yes, SFP28 supports 10G speeds with SFP-SWRT-LR/SR or DAC-SWRT-3M/1M (DAC cable), and 1G with SFP-SWRG-LX/SX.
Can third-party SFP28 modules be used via the SFP28 ports?
There is no functional restriction on the use of third-party products. However, even if they work, we do not offer support for their use.
Can QSFP28 connect at speeds other than 100G?
No, only 100G is supported. These are not a dedicated stacking ports; they can also be used for cascade connections. However, they do not support 25G x 4 breakout with QSFP28 cables.
How do I make 100G connections?
Use QSFP28 AOC cables (Active Optical Cable) for connection. Genuine Yamaha AOC cables (YAOC-100G-1M) are sold separately. There are no genuine QSFP28 modules. The use of third-party modules is not restricted but is not covered by warranty.
How much power can be supplied via PoE?
The SWX2322P-30MC supports PoE++ up to a maximum of 90 W per port. Total power supply capacity is 720 W.
Can redundant power supplies be used?
Only the SWX3220-30TCs supports redundant power supplies. Support for redundant power supplies can be obtained by adding the separately sold YPSU-550W-AC.
Can I hot-swap power supply unit?
Yes. If two power supply unit are installed, one can be replaced while the unit is running.
How can I check for power supply unit failure?
You can check via logs, the GUI dashboard, [LAN MAP], or the LEDs on the module itself.
Are there any special features available for ProAV?
Major ProAV profiles such as SMPTE ST 2110, IPMX, Dante, SDVoE, and NAV are supported.
Can the SWX3220-30 series and SWX2320-30 series be integrated with Yamaha Network Organizer (YNO)?
Currently, this functionality is only available in Japan.
Is time synchronization supported?
The SWX3220-30 series and SWX2320-30 series support IEEE 1588 PTPv2 TC for accurate AV system synchronization. SWX3220-30TCs also supports PTPv2 BC.
What is PTP?
PTP is a high-precision time synchronization protocol used for synchronizing IP-based broadcast, video, and audio equipment.
What is the difference between PTP TC and PTP BC?
PTP TC compensates for internal switch delay, while for PTP BC, the switch itself acts as a relay point for time synchronization. PTP BC support is important for large-scale networks and broadcast applications.
Which profiles are supported by PTP?
SMPTE profile is supported. Time correction accuracy is equivalent to Telecom profiles (Class B/C).
Can a PTPv2 BC-compatible switch be used as a GMC (Grand Master Clock)?
A PTPv2 BC-compatible switch cannot assume the role of a GMC itself but can temporarily function as a substitute when a GMC is absent.
How much do these products cost and how long is the warranty period?
Please contact your local partner or distributor.
What is the RADIUS server function?
RADIUS is a network protocol for user authentication. By using the switch's RADIUS server function, authentication can be performed without an additional RADIUS server.
