Yamaha Renews Partnership with Sydney Opera House

Sydney Opera House

Yamaha Music Australia is proud to announce that it will continue its partnership with Sydney Opera House.

The Sydney Opera House is Australia's most recognisable building and is an icon of Australia's creative and technical achievement. Since its completion in 1973 it has attracted worldwide acclaim for its design and construction, enhanced by its location on Bennelong Point within a superb harbour setting.

The iconic institution is home to a number of Yamaha C-Series grand pianos, and in 2013 acquired the acclaimed Yamaha CFX concert grand piano for use throughout its halls and theatres. This piano has been performed on by the likes of Chick Corea and Tim Minchin, among many others.

In July 2016, Sydney Opera House will play host to the finals of the Sydney International Piano Competition, which was last held in 2011. One of the highly regarded competitions of the world, the Sydney International Piano Competition is a gruelling multi-stage piano competition where contestants select from a variety of concert grand pianos. As in other world competitions, such as the recent Tchaikovsky competition in Warsaw, the Yamaha CFX will feature prominently. Yamaha will be providing special piano technical support for the competitors.

The CF Series pianos are characterised by a wide palette of tonal colors and the ability to create the most subtle expressive nuances. The CF Series pianos can "sing" phrases with a depth of expressiveness rarely heard. The nine foot CFX has a powerful bass and all registers can project over the sound of a symphony orchestra, even in very large halls.
