Germany: LSX-700 Lighting/Audio System claims prestigious, international design award

The release of the LSX-700 Lighting/Audio System in January of this year signalled a new venture for the world’s largest sound company. Yamaha’s foray into lighting inspires ingenuity by combining a suite of musical competencies including wireless music streaming and app control, with a subtle arrangement of adjustable LEDs.

The appeal to interior design circles however hinges on the interplay of the LSX-700 with its environment - unobtrusive, understated, and practical. Positioning the LSX-700 in proximity to a wall or in the corner of a room reveals the delicate pattern of light projected on its surroundings while naturally warm and expansive sound reflects purposefully off the wall in similar fashion.

At a prestigious presentation of the Red Dot Awards hosted recently at the Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany, the LSX-700 was recognised for its excellence in Product Design. The Awards are widely accepted as being among the most prominent in the world with its Product Design category open to submissions released in the previous two years. 4,815 products from 53 countries were entered this year with judging based on criteria such as design innovation and functionality.

The award serves as a coup for the recently launched LSX-700, which continues to establish itself in the Australian market and brings the tally of Red Dot Design Awards to 15 for the company at large. The LSX-700 Lighting/Audio System is available now at select retailers with a recommended retail price (RRP) of $699.
