AVENTAGE Series IV Released

AVENTAGE Series IV complete with unveiling of three high-end receiver models

Following the recent release of the RX-A830 and RX-A730 AV receivers from Yamaha’s much-anticipated AVENTAGE Series IV, the remaining three models which complete the company’s premium home theatre offering have been unveiled.

Now in its fourth year, the success of the AVENTAGE Series can be credited to its uncompromising approach to design and innovation. Exemplifying this ethos, Yamaha introduces the RX-A3030, RX-A2030 and RX-A1030 receivers as the principal models of Series IV.

Building on the performance and functionality benchmarked by equivalent models in the preceding series, new advances to feature on the receivers include best-in-class DACs (digital-to-analogue converters), music streaming via Pandora® Internet radio, HDMI Zone Switching for enhanced multi-room video, MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) connectivity and Yamaha’s original suite of proprietary video processing technologies.

“The adoption of high-end ESS Technology DACs on these models represents Yamaha’s commitment to first class audio,” remarked Justin d’Offay - Product Manager for Yamaha Music Australia’s AV Division. “Not only do these receivers boast the latest in functionality, they also bring studio-grade audio performance into the home.”

The RX-A3030 features a 192 kHz/24-bit ES9016 SABRE32 Ultra DAC for the 7 main channels and an ES9006 Premier Audio DAC for the presence channels - delivering a spectacular sound stage with extremely low distortion and noise. For the RX-A2030, two ES9006 DACs are utilised for all channels and one ES9006 has been used for the 7 channel RX-A1030. The move to ESS Technology DACs highlights Yamaha’s dedication to carefully selecting components for its premium line of receivers and ensures professional reproduction of audio signals from Blu-ray players and other high-definition sources including network players.

Integration of Pandora® signals a change in the way we listen to and discover new music. This music streaming service enables users to create custom Internet radio stations synchronised across multiple devices, based on a favourite artist, song or genre. Whether listening to old favourites or discovering new music, the ability to log in directly from the AVENTAGE receiver provides quick and convenient access to the user’s favourite music.

Pandora® adds to the arsenal of network features for each receiver model which includes AirPlay, vTuner Internet radio and music streaming from DLNA devices. Yamaha’s free-to-download AV Controller app delivers intuitive functionality and enhanced control with its latest version boasting an improved zone interface, customised naming of inputs and zones, and the ability to hide unused icons for user-friendly operation. Each model offers WiFi network connectivity through the included YWA-10 adaptor, for connection to the wireless home network and access to seamless smart home functionality.

In addition to streaming MP3, WMA and AAC files from a DLNA-enabled server, high-resolution WAV and FLAC files are also supported up to 192 kHz/24-bit. Capitalising on this trend toward high-fidelity audio, the RX-A3030 and RX-A2030 also feature Yamaha’s High-Resolution Music Enhancer which not only improves compressed music but also lossless formats including CD and FLAC. High-sampling augmentation of audio presents the audience with unprecedented sound quality for a new level of detail and clarity.

All Series IV receivers build on connectivity from last year’s models with a MHL-capable (Mobile High-Definition Link) HDMI port conveniently located on the front of the receiver. MHL enables playback of Full HD video and 7.1 channel audio from compatible portable devices such as Android phones and tablets.

For multi-room entertainment, the RX-A1030 sees the introduction of HDMI Zone Switching which enables two HDMI audio/video sources to be viewed in different areas of the home simultaneously. Taking this versatility a step further, Advanced HDMI Zone Switching on the RX-A3030 and RX-A2030 provides the user with the choice of HDMI, analogue/digital, network or USB as the second zone source while accessing a graphical user interface (GUI) in that zone.

Drawing on expertise earned through engineering high-end video projectors, all Series IV receivers employ Yamaha original video processing for optimised picture quality. All three models feature motion adaptive deinterlacing for precise by-pixel processing of moving and still images, edge adaptive deinterlacing to smooth out jaggy noise and multi-cadence (including 3:2 pull-down to match film content) detection. The RX-A3030 and RX-A2030 also feature advanced processing techniques including detail and edge enhancement, and video signal control - contrast, brightness and saturation.

The 9 channel RX-A3030 is rated at 150W per channel and is expandable to an immersive 11 channel home theatre system using an external amplifier. Together with CINEMA DSP HD3 (cubic) surround sound processing, the RX-A3030 brings music and movies to life with an amazing sense of realism. The RX-A2030 provides 140W to each of its 9 channels, while the 7 channel RX-A1030 is rated at 110W per channel.

The new AVENTAGE Series IV receivers are available exclusively at authorised Yamaha AVENTAGE dealers with the following RRPs (recommended retail prices): RX-A3030 ($2,699), RX-A2030 ($2,199), and RX-A1030 ($1,799).
