Celebrating a musical Christmas with Yamaha
Yamaha new product releases just in time for Christmas
With Christmas just around the corner, Yamaha Music Australia is excited to announce a bevy of new product releases set to appeal to music-lovers and gadget-geeks alike this festive season. Here’s a complete breakdown as to what’s new this Christmas from Yamaha.
Wireless Speaker Solutions
Yamaha’s popular range of Lifestyle Audio products continues to expand with the recent release of three wireless models - ideal for home and on-the-go.
Armed with an IPx4 waterproof rating, the go-anywhere NX-P100 wireless speaker offers portability and the capacity to recharge either a smartphone via USB or itself with its rechargeable lithium battery providing up to 15 hours of playback. In addition to wirelessly connecting to Bluetooth devices and one-touch pairing via NFC, the ‘P100’ also acts as a high quality speaker phone. This exciting new feature facilitates easy-to-use conference and group calling and also activates Siri at the push of a button. The P100 is available now and will be a popular stocking-filler with an RRP of $199.
Set for release in late November, the TSX-B72 offers a wireless update to Yamaha’s popular bedside and kitchen bench solution in the TSX-70. Trademark Yamaha sound and a versatile feature set are taken to the next level with this $299 RRP wireless music speaker which offers streaming from Bluetooth devices, one-touch pairing via NFC, USB recharging, FM tuner and enhanced operation using Yamaha’s DTA Controller app - making it easy to configure multi-day, customised alarms.
Not your everyday small speaker system, the NX-B55 wireless desktop monitor speaker delivers powerful audio from its connected devices. Whether streaming wirelessly from a favourite music app or even laptop while studying on the couch, the NX-B55 fills any room with music. In addition, the speaker switches conveniently to standby mode when the music stops - springing back to life when the audio signal is received again making it perfect for power-conscious families. The NX-B55 will be available now at a RRP of $279.
Headphones
Yamaha continues to grow its range of headphones with the establishment of its Fashion Series. The eye-catching HPH-M82 on-ear headphones spearhead this series sporting a radical new design in a range of colours including three matt and three gloss finishes. A tangle-resistant flat cable also features an in-line remote control and microphone made for use with iDevices. Set for release just in time for Christmas, the HPH-M82 headphones are set to make it on the Christmas wish list at $129.95 RRP.
AV Receivers
Yamaha’s 2013 AV receiver range has a number of hallmark features to get excited about. The integration of Pandora internet radio, Spotify Connect (coming soon), MHL (Mobile High-definition Link), colour variations on select models within the range and a model equipped with digital radio (DAB+) have marked a year of firsts for the market-leading company.
This Christmas also signals Yamaha’s entry into the slimline receiver market with two models - the RX-S600 and RX-S600D. Targeted at those with an aesthetic slant or with limited space in their entertainment cabinet, both models stand at just 111 mm tall and feature 5 in/1 out HDMI, Zone 2, app control via Yamaha’s own AV Controller app, AirPlay, music streaming, Internet radio, and Spotify Connect which is set to be released soon via a firmware update.
The RX-S600 also includes Pandora Internet radio and is available exclusively to Harvey Norman, Domayne and Joyce Mayne at a recommended retail price (RRP) of $849. The RX-S600D features digital radio (DAB+) in place of Pandora and is available now at all authorised Yamaha dealers with a RRP of $949.
Sound Bars
With sound bars tipped to be the hot-ticket item this Christmas, Yamaha has launched two new additions to their range. The YAS-152 serves as a goliath version of the company’s most popular and award-winning YAS-101 sound bar. Its elongated form houses dual subwoofers and spans 1.2 m making it the perfect audio accessory for big-screen TVs.
Priced at $499 RRP, the YAS-152 reproduces 7.1 channel surround sound utilising AIR SURROUND XTREME technology to immerse the listener in the action with clear dialogue from the front and effects localised around and behind the audience. However the most exciting feature to the larger sound bar is the addition of Bluetooth for wireless music streaming. Another benefit of this wireless connection is app control from Yamaha’s new HT Controller app. Changing inputs and adjusting the sound settings are just a few features of this highly intuitive app, a free download from the App Store or Google Play.
The YSP-1400 sound bar, available now exclusively at Harvey Norman, Domayne and Joyce Mayne, draws on Yamaha’s acclaimed YSP technology to reflect focused audio beams off walls before returning to the listening position for a true multi-channel surround sound experience. At $799 RRP, the YSP-1400 is the most affordable sound bar solution to feature the sophisticated YSP technology. Bluetooth is again included in the YSP-1400 offering support for Yamaha’s HT Controller app. However more detailed set-up functions are provided on the YSP-1400 to calibrate the beams according to the main listening position.
Hi Fi
With the recent launch of a new flagship series in its Hi Fi category (the S3000 Series), Yamaha has also launched two new stereo Hi Fi components at the entry point to its range. The affordable A-S201 integrated amplifier and R-S201 receiver inherits Yamaha’s pedigree in producing components capable of high-fidelity sound, with sophisticated design and innovation. Both models are available now with a RRP of $399.
In addition, the 2 channel receiver category sees the introduction of a new network-capable model in the R-N500. The high-performance receiver promotes network functionality including remote operation via the NP Controller app, AirPlay, Internet radio and high-resolution music streaming from network sources. Bringing cutting-edge features and connectivity (including digital audio inputs for a TV or Blu-ray player) to the Hi Fi range, the R-N500 is available now with a RRP of $899.
Micro Hi Fi
In the same fashion as the R-N500, Yamaha’s new MCR-N560D micro Hi Fi system combines elegant design and superior performance with advanced network functionality. The NP Controller app provides enhanced operation via smart devices while AirPlay and music streaming via a home network or Internet Radio, as well as DAB+ Digital Radio offers a wide range of sources to the listener. Again, a digital audio input is provided for connecting TVs and Blu-ray players.
The MCR-N560D offers an all-in-one audio solution priced at $799 RRP and is now.
