Yamaha ROCKS Children in Need 2013!
Children In Need is the BBC's UK charity. Since 1980 it has raised over £600 million to change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK. The ‘Children In Needs Rocks’ concerts raise money for this amazing charity and performers doing their bit this year included a star-studded array of Yamaha fans including Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, Kings of Leon, Barry Manilow, Ellie Goulding, Dizzee Rascal, Nicole Scherzinger, Little Mix, Tom Odell, Rizzle Kicks, Bastille, the Lumineers, Passenger and The Wanted.
The events took place on 12th and 13th November 2013 at Hammersmith Apollo, London. They were put together by Gary Barlow, himself a huge Yamaha piano fan, together with Yamaha endorsee Mike Stevens who is also Take That's musical director.
On Stage were 9 Yamaha professional keyboards including MOTIF XF's, S90XS and CP stage pianos, all led by Gary's personalised CP1 stage piano. Yamaha's new and critically acclaimed Live Custom drum kit was the power behind many of the acts in the highly capable hands of Yamaha artist Donovan Hepburn who also selected a DTX multi-pad trigger system to complement his acoustic kit. Mixing power was provided by Yamaha's award-winning 01V96 consoles.
