Australian National Academy of Music & Yamaha Music Australia in Partnership

The South Melbourne Town Hall is home to one of Australia’s most admired music schools, the Australian National Academy of Music, better known as ANAM.

“ANAM's vision is to develop the country’s future musical leaders, distinguished by their musical skill, imagination and courage, and by their determined contribution to a vibrant Australian musical culture.

Their students work in partnership with a faculty comprised of the country’s leading performers and teachers, an impressive roster of international and Australian artists and a professional administration team to create an intense studio-based program of one-to-one lessons, classes, coachings, seminars and rehearsals that drives one of the country’s most active and innovative public performance programs.”

ANAM believes that a vibrant future for classical music lies in the hands of young musicians, and so do Yamaha, which is why in 2013 Yamaha Music Australia has entered into an association with the school as their official musical instrument partner.

In support of the opening of a new percussion course at the school, ANAM has purchased a set of Yamaha premium concert percussion, including the legendary YM6100 Keiko Abe marimba. This compliments an already stunning line up of Yamaha acoustic pianos.

Yamaha hope that this relationship will encourage students and alumni alike to find their creative path with Yamaha.
