The current state of TVs
Few of you would give up your televisions though – and why would you? The TV is the heart of home entertainment, providing
constant access to your favourite shows, movies and sports. Streaming services like Netflix and Stan
give you even more reasons to tune in, with instant access to ever-changing premium content. Space-wise,
be thankful that the days of the cumbersome, box-like TV are long gone. TVs are becoming thinner
by the year, allowing you to maximise screen size, without sacrificing valuable living room real
estate. The advent of the slender screen has meant TV manufacturers cannot physically fit the necessary
components of a quality speaker system into their TVs – resulting in brilliantly clear screen resolutions
accompanied by tinny, lacklustre audio delivered by miniscule speakers. Not an ideal situation if
you want to maximise your enjoyment. Think about it – if you’re watching a film, sound conveys a
majority of detailed storyline (through character dialogue) and a huge degree of all-important emotion,
particularly through its score. You would probably get the gist of Titanic if you watched it without
sound, but would your heart truly swell without the full effect of Celine Dion’s ‘My Heart Will Go
On’? Unlikely. But all is not lost – there is a solution to your TV audio problems.
