Over twenty years ago, we re-invented home theater with the YSP-1 soundbar, and have been refining beam technology ever since. In this latest model, Yamaha's original YDA-141 high-performance amplifier with twelve ultra-precise DSP-controlled beam speakers mounted on the top (six on each side) create unique height channels with ceiling reflections. With realistic Dolby Atmos® playback, it delivers an amazing sound field that surpasses conventional soundbars.

The subwoofer of this system employs Symmetrical Flare Port® technology, newly developed through meticulous Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) measurements—delivering powerful, deeply resonant bass. The symmetrical horizontal/vertical port structure ensures extremely smooth release of the strong air flow generated during bass reproduction. As a result, port noise has been reduced by 20 dB compared to conventional models, enabling pure bass reproduction that is both powerful and deep.

UNIQUE BEAM SPEAKER TECHNOLOGY
The foundation of Yamaha's original Beam Speaker Technology consists of two key elements: a side-by-side array of multiple small-diameter speakers, and the use of advanced digital signal processing to precisely control the timing of the sound emitted from the array. When each of these speakers simultaneously emit the same sound, the multiple sound waves overlap, creating a sound "beam" of strong directional waves. By slightly shifting the timing of the sound from each speaker—with the ultra-accurate digital signal processing—the directivity of the beams can be precisely controlled and focused to reflect from ceiling surfaces to create a remarkably realistic sonic field where the sound seems to come from above. Moreover, the technology has been by customized exclusively for various three-dimensional sound field formats, such as Dolby Atmos®, DTS:X™, and AURO-3D®, enabling extraordinary real-height reproduction that fully takes advantage of the sonic brilliance of these sound field formats.

Enabled witha touch of a button, the True X speakers connect with the True X Soundbar to create True X Surround, producing exhilarating realism and clarity for your movies. The True X speakers are surround speakers which can be put anywhere in your room, for flexibility as well as optimum sound. These speakers also double as portable Bluetooth® speakers. The term “Soundstage” refers to how sound naturally resonates and reverberates in a particular space, and it varies greatly among homes and movie theaters. Even with the same audio source, the listening experience differs dramatically, making it difficult to recreate the impact of a theater at home. To overcome this, Yamaha pioneered the concept of creating soundstages by reproducing concert hall acoustics in home audio, releasing the world’s first Digital Soundfield Processor, the DSP-1, in 1986. Developed after more than 30 years of DSP research, Surround:AI™ revolutionizes the home theater experience by analyzing and optimizing DSP parameters five times per second. It dynamically scans each scene in real time, identifying key sound elements—dialogue, background music, ambient sounds, and effects—and instantly fine-tunes the surround sound for breathtaking immersion, seemingly increasing the number of channels.

The TRUE X SURROUND 90A is equipped with Yamaha's original MusicCast network system. Moreover, it is compatible with a variety of streaming services such as Amazon Music HD and Spotify, letting you fully enjoy exceptionally high-quality sound unique to today’s high-resolution and lossless sound sources, with complete fidelity. You can also use it to stream Apple Music with Airplay 2. As the world's first AURO-3D® soundbar, it takes full advantage of the height beams and creates a sense of realism as if you were actually experiencing a live performance in a concert hall. In addition, with great effect thanks to AURO-3D® Auro-Matic upmixer function, stereo video content is upmixed into an exceptional three-dimensional sound field.

WALL HANGING
Simply remove the legs from the center unit, and it can be easily wall-mounted using the included metal fittings. Just 76 mm in height and 143 mm in depth, it does not disturb the interior of the room even when hung on the wall.

The unique and switchable Clear Voice feature makes it easier to hear and understand voices and dialogue. Bass Extension also adds body and depth to the bass while keeping the mids and highs clean, making movies even more immersive.
