Yamaha Music Australia is giving emerging Australian music creators the chance to win $5,000 in cash and $5,000 worth of Yamaha gear to help get them on their way to the Main Stage.
Yamaha Music Australia is a proud supporter of Support Act. For every application received
for this year’s Main Stage Grant, $5 will be donated to Support Act, providing crisis relief, mental health
and wellbeing support to musicians, managers, crew, music workers and organisations across all genres of
music.
Categories
Band
For groups of two or more musicians performing original music together.
Eligibility:
- Must consist of two or more members.
- Must perform primarily original music.
- Entry must be submitted on behalf of the band.
- Submitted track must feature the band performing together.
Artist / Songwritter
For solo artists who write and perform their own original music.
Eligibility:
- Open to individual artists only.
- Must be the primary songwriter of the submitted work.
- May perform under their own name or an artist/project name.
- Submitted track must feature original songwriting.
Music & Studio Production
For producers, beatmakers, composers, recording engineers and creators whose primary focus is music
production.
Eligibility:
- Open to individual applicants only.
- Must have played a lead role in producing, recording, composing, arranging or mixing the submitted work
- Vocal performance is not required.
- Entries may include instrumental works, electronic music, beats, film or game compositions, or fully produced songs.
Can't decide if you're a songwriter or a producer? If you create in both worlds,
go for it.
You're welcome to enter both categories with separate submissions.

Prizes
- 1 x Band will receive a $5,000 cash grant plus Yamaha gear valued at $5,000 RRP.
- 1 x Artist/Songwriter will receive a $5,000 cash grant plus Yamaha gear valued at $5,000 RRP.
- 1 x Music & Studio Production winner will receive a $5,000 cash grant plus Yamaha gear valued at $5,000 RP.
Finalists will receive a Yamaha Main Stage Finalist Prize Pack, featuring
apparel from Levi's®, plus an exclusive one-on-one mentoring session with
Jayden Roy from Destroy All Lines.
How it Works

- Our judging panel will review all entries.
- Finalists announced on 27 Oct 2026.
- Grant Recipients announced on 11 Nov 2026.
Finalists and winners will be selected based on:
- Quality of songwriting, musicianship or production demonstrated in the submitted work
- The entrant's potential to benefit from the competition prize
- Clarity of vision, originality, artistic integrity and potential for future impact.
