With the addition of external amplifiers (such as an A-S700) the RX-V2067 allows the configuration of a 9.2 channel set-up in your home theatre room. This configuration provides a significantly more encompassing surround sound experience - closer to that of a movie theatre. There is greater localisation of sounds travelling overhead with the use of Yamaha’s front presence speakers - a pair of speakers that sit above the top corners of your projector or flat screen television, adding a 3rd sound dimension.
Different sound and video in different rooms!
The RX-V2067 provides the ability to listen to music in up to three different rooms of the house (zones) at one time, all powered by the RX-V2067. For complete convenience the RX-V2067 has 11 speaker terminals allowing the connection of second and third zone speakers while maintaining seven speakers connected in the main zone. When Zone 2 or 3 is turned on, the receiver will reassign its internal amplifiers used to power the surround and surround back speakers to the additional zones. There is also a component video output which can be assigned to the second or third zone to provide both audio and video in a different area of the house.
Connectivity for the future
Incorporating eight (8) HDMI inputs (including one on the front panel) and dual simultaneous outputs, additional audio inputs, iPod connectivity and an Ethernet connection, the RX-V2067 has connectivity to appease the technology enthusiast of today and is ready to tackle the additional devices of tomorrow.
The Ethernet port on the RX-V2067 adds a new level of functionality to an already accomplished AV Receiver. By connecting the receiver to a router with Internet access, users can stream over 2,000 Internet radio stations from the vTuner website. Navigation is via the commonly used location, genre or via particular stations that have been bookmarked. The Ethernet port also provides the ability to stream music stored on a PC, laptop or NAS storage device. Simply set-up file sharing and begin playing music from these devices, with album artwork showing on the television.
iPad / iPhone Control
The included web browser control allows operation of the receiver by anything that has the ability to browse the web, including devices such as an iPad or iPhone. Simply type in the IP address of the receiver and it can be controlled using an intuitive menu system. Using an iPad or iPhone means the RX-V2067 can now be controlled using a touch-screen interface providing simple and intuitive operation.
Quality Video Processing
While HD content such as Blu-Ray is readily available, there is still a great deal of SD content in many homes - particularly DVD movie collections. High-quality video processing is imperative to ensure this DVD library looks its best when displayed on a HD 1080p television or projector. The RX-V2067 uses the latest HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) processor to perform this video processing, delivering SD content in HD quality.
Yamaha’s SCENE function is designed for easy operation. By pressing SCENE 1 on the remote or front panel, the receiver will turn on, select the relevant input and sound mode, and can even begin playback on a compatible SCENE Blu-Ray player such as Yamaha’s BD-S667. SCENE Plus, included on the RX-V2067 provides the ability to store detailed settings on the receiver including YPAO calibrations, speaker settings and other advanced settings.
New Graphical User Interface (GUI)
The RX-V2067 includes a new GUI which will superimpose over the video being displayed. This new GUI provides much more intuitive set-up of the receiver with colourful graphics to assist the set-up.
Dolby TrueHD is an advanced lossless audio technology developed for high-definition disc-based media including Blu-ray Disc. Selected as an optional audio standard for Blu-ray Disc, this technology delivers sound that is bit-for-bit identical to the studio master, offering a high-definition home theater experience. Supporting bitrates up to 18.0 Mbps, Dolby TrueHD can carry up to 8 discrete channels of 24-bit/96 kHz audio simultaneously. Dolby TrueHD also remains fully compatible with the existing multichannel audio systems and retains the metadata capability of Dolby Digital, allowing dialog normalization and dynamic range control.

SCENE – A NEW LEVEL OF OPERATING EASE
With most AV components, watching or listening to what you want requires a number of steps. You have to turn on the AV component, turn on another component like a DVD player, select the source, select the surround mode and then press play. But with Yamaha’s SCENE feature all you need to do is press one button. Both components turn on, the correct DSP setting is made, and play begins. This SCENE function allows you to change input sources and sound field programmes with one button. Four SCENE buttons are available for different usages, such as playing movies or music.
This unit allows you to configure a multi-zone audio system. The multi-zone configuration feature enables you to set this unit to reproduce separate input sources in the main zone, second zone (Zone 2) and third zone (Zone 3). You can control this unit from the second or third zone using the supplied remote control.
Yamaha has developed a natural, realistic sound effect DSP algorithm for headphones. Parameters for headphones have been set for each sound field so that accurate representations of all the sound field programs can be enjoyed on headphones.
Compressed Music Enhancer
Yamaha employs sophisticated digital signal processing with exclusive algorithms to enable playback that improves the performance of compressed music formats, including MP3 and WMA. With the Compressed Music Enhancer, highs and especially lows are richer and smoother, bringing music back to life to be as close to the original as possible.
YPAO Automatic System Calibration
Yamaha’s YPAO system uses a small microphone and sophisticated equalization to automatically set the best sound for any room, no matter where the speakers are. First it checks the speaker connections and phase of each speaker. Then it sends out tones which are captured by the microphone to analyze the room acoustics and sets a variety of parameters, such as the speaker size, the distance of the speakers and even the sound pressure level, etc. Until it achieves the best sound conditions for your room and you don't have to do anything!

CINEMA DSP 3D mode
The actually measured sound field data contain the information of the height of the sound images. CINEMA DSP 3D mode achieves the reproduction of the accurate height of the sound images so that it creates the accurate and intensive stereoscopic sound fields in a listening room.
