Introducing the '73 Series
Serving as the first model from the new ’73 Series, the RX‐V373 replaces Australia’s best‐selling
receiver from last year – the RX‐V371.
The 5.1 channel receiver positioned at the entry‐point to the new series boasts Yamaha’s
signature home theatre performance and functionality at an attractive price point. Delivering a
high‐definition home theatre experience, the RX‐V373 offers simple operation and the latest
features including iPhone connectivity, HD Audio decoding and 4K video pass‐through.
Apple device integration is key with a USB port located on the front panel for convenient
connection of iPods, iPhones and USB drives. Simply connect the iDevice using the white cable
provided with the iPod or iPhone directly to the front USB port. This direct digital connection not
only charges the iPod/iPhone but also provides superior sound quality, carries song information
and enables control using the receiver’s remote.
Moving into home theatre performance, the RX‐V373 delivers. The addition of 4K video passthrough
future proofs the receiver for the new 4K video format, four times the resolution of the
current full HD 1080p format. However with sound the most paramount consideration for Yamaha
receivers, the RX‐V373 comes with some notable features.
Ensuring a hassle‐free set‐up, YPAO (Yamaha Parametric Acoustic room Optimiser) provides
professional calibration of the home theatre system to any size or shape room by measuring and
analysing speaker capabilities and the room’s acoustic qualities.
YPAO works in tandem with Yamaha’s renowned DSP modes, further enhancing the home theatre
experience. Users gain quick‐access to 17 of Yamaha’s proprietary DSP programs utilising CINEMA
DSP technology and Virtual CINEMA DSP which delivers the effect of CINEMA DSP surround sound
without surround speakers.
Enhancing the playback quality of your favourite compressed music files, Yamaha’s Compressed
Music Enhancer utilises complex algorithms to restore lost data as a result of the compression
process.
Other new features to note include high speed HDMI switching that recalls settings of connected
sources reducing the time taken to switch between various HDMI sources, and ECO Mode which
reduces the power consumption by up to 20%* with minimal degradation in audio quality at
volumes lower than ‐20dB.
The RX‐V373 has a recommended retail price of $499 and is available in the YHT‐298 (RX‐V373
equivalent; HTR‐3065) home theatre package with bookshelf speakers for $649 RRP and the YHT‐
698AU full size home theatre package at $1,199 RRP with HT Series floor standing front speakers.
