Biography

Wesley Charles Bull was born in Brisbane in 1986 and growing up developed a keen interest in rhythm and in particular, the drum set. At three years of age he began setting up his mother's pots and pans as a drum set, and started playing along to his kids music albums. At 15 Wes found massive inspiration with his discovery of the progressive band, Dream Theater. Impressed with Mike Portnoy's drumming and eloquent flair around the kit, Wes started to buy up all the Dream Theater he could get his hands on. After listening to all of their albums over and over again, Wes found himself wanting to make similar music, and so Soilgrain was formed in the summer of 2003.

Soilgrain continued for a number of years releasing a seven track EP and a few other miscellaneous recordings that had some minor success throughout the South East of Queensland.

During the Soilgrain period, Wes played on his first major project, Daniel Shuker's, All That You Are, a live praise and worship CD/DVD full of soaring anthems and spacious arrangements. Now bandless, and with the success of Daniel Shuker's first album, Wes decided to put his prog metal career on hold to focus more on the music at his church, Citipointe Church, a 4500 member Church on the south side of Brisbane. It was here that he became involved in the music team at Citipointe, drumming on a Sunday night and also with Citikidz, the children's ministry at Citipointe.

After a couple of years of being involved in these two ministries, Wes was approached to play on Citipointe albums. The first of these was Citikidz' 'All of My Days' which was the first kids album to be done in the C.O.C movement's history. Since it's release in April 2006 it has sold
